An Historic Church
St. Stephen & the Incarnation Episcopal Church is an historic church located in Columbia Heights. Our rich history (first integrated parish in the Washington Episcopal Diocese in 1957, first church to ordain women to the priesthood in 1974, before ordination was approved by the greater church, support for the first holy union of a same sex couple in 1976) coupled with our beautiful sanctuary make this a unique location for your wedding.
Cost for rental is $1,100. This includes 3-hours for set-up, ceremony and photos, as well as 1 hour for rehearsal prior to the ceremony (usually the day before). Please supply your own officiant. Musicians and reception space available upon request for an additional fee.
Capacity is 120 for the sanctuary. SSI will provide set up for up to 120 movable chapel chairs, microphones/sound system and security. A “green room” is also available prior to the wedding.
