Interested in pastoral care ministry?
Looking for more pastoral care ministers. St. Stephen's pastoral care ministry team provides emotional and spiritual support to members in times of need. We do this in various ways: visiting in home or hospital, taking communion when requested, visiting by telephone calls and by writing cards. We also review and update the parish prayer list. By meeting monthly we support one another and make time to discuss different aspects of pastoral care. If you want to learn more, join us Sunday, July 21 at noon in the meeting room right behind the Godly Play Room. Fr. Sam will be facilitating the meeting. We want to enlarge the circle of caring at St. Stephen's. Please consider joining us.
Name Badges or Name Tags Request Process
In mid June our name badge request form attached to a clip board disappeared from its spot on the back table. The request form has been replaced and if anyone who would like a name badge please add your name to the form. If you requested a name tag in the recent past and did not receive one, please add your name to the new form. Note to all: Name tags are really helpful so if you have a badge please wear it.

Feast of Mary Magdalene - The Apostle of the Apostles
When: July 22, 6:30pm
Lets get together to be inspired by one of the great saints of the church, Mary Magdalene. The narrative presents her as midwife, shepherd and repairer of fishing nets, like many women of her time. But she is also a woman of prayer that became the witness of God’s power through the resurrection of Jesus. Come with an open heart and with curiosity about this biblical icon. We will provide snacks and soft drinks for an evening to explore her life and her importance for the Church.

Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation
Confirmation is the sacrament of maturity. With the gesture of laying on of hands and unction with chrism by the bishop, the power of the Holy Spirit fills the newly confirmed to proclaim the Good News in Christ, to give strength in faith and to lead people into the world. For that reason, our church is offering a Confirmation Class during the fall for those interested in taking this new step as part of the journey of faith. The Sacrament of Confirmation will take place at Washington National Cathedral, on November 2, 10am. Those interested, please contact Fr. Sam Dessórdi Leite, our Senior Priest, at ˂samdessordi@yahoo.co.uk˃.
Savior of the World: Feast and Solemn Mass – August 4, 5:30pm
The first week of August is a special time in El Salvador. In Salvadorian tradition, eyes, ears and hearts are focused on the person of Christ, through the experience of the Transfiguration of Our Lord on Mount Tabor. Misa Alegría invites everyone to share in celebrating this Christian festival. We'll begin with a procession outdoors and walk to the church nave for the Eucharistic feast. After the service, Salvadorian food will be served. We also invite you to wear white and blue, the colors of the Salvadorian flag.
