Our commitment to follow Jesus begins with the Baptismal Covenant. Each of us is on a journey as we experience calls to ministry that change and grow throughout life. Sue will share stories from her own call as a deacon and relate how the ministry of a deacon is connected to the call and ministry of both the laity and the priesthood.
Celebration of Loaves and Fishes and honoring of Ellen Baynard for Service and her Birthday
Please join us for during the coffee hour for a festive lunch on November 24 to celebrate Loaves and Fishes and the Birthday of Ellen Baynard. It is almost impossible to talk about Loaves and Fishes without recognizing the immensely important role Ms. Ellen has played in making this program such a success. Until we were able to hire a professional operations manager, Ms. Ellen, already working at a full-time job and taking care of family responsibilities, volunteered countless hours to oversee the kitchen activities and make sure that the meals were prepared and served. The only reward for Ms. Ellen was in knowing how much the meal guests and volunteers loved and appreciated her efforts. The photo above is typical: She was instrumental in ensuring the cooking of the many turkeys needed for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Ms. Ellen has been an indispensable volunteer and manager for Loaves and Fishes and many other activities at St. Stephen and the Incarnation. Ms. Ellen, we love and honor you for your many years of service.
Message from Michael Salmon
Choir rehearsal will be cancelled on Thursday, November 28th.
